The applications for our technologies are vast and varied. As amino acids are the basic building blocks in all proteins, they play integral roles in nutrition, physiology, diseases and biotechnology. Applications for amino acid analysis include:
Quantitative proteomics can be used as a screening tool for identification of differentially expressed proteins as potential biomarkers for cancer and other diseases. Our high through put arrays should become the cornerstone of quantitative proteomics enabling:
Protein End Group Sequencing
It is important to obtain both the N- and C-terminal sequence tag (e.g. 3 amino acids long) of an intact protein. This information verifies the start and stop points in a gene, identifies limited proteolysis, a common and important post-translational modification, and may allow PCR cloning of the gene. Our technology should enable massively paralleled protein sequencing simultaneously form the N- and C-terminus on the same instrument, sequencing hundreds of proteins at a time.
These technologies will dramatically increase throughput and productivity in numerous industries, accelerate disease detection and accelerate the drug discovery process all at greatly reduced cost with many lasting benefits for humankind.
